Online sportsbetting operator 21Bet has announced that it is continuing to invest in British and Irish sports after signing a deal to become the official betting partner of English professional rugby union side Gloucester Rugby.

Launched in March of 2016 utilizing a platform from developer FSB Technology (UK) Limited, 21Bet recently inked a shirt sponsorship agreement with second-tier Irish soccer side Waterford and also has ongoing partnership deals in place with English Championship football team Wolverhampton Wanderers and British flyweight boxer Charlie Edwards.

“We are very selective in the clubs that we associate ourselves with and we are absolutely delighted to be partnered with such a renowned and well-run club like Gloucester Rugby,” read a statement from Richard Hogg, Chief Executive Officer for 21Bet. “Our whole ethos is based around being passionate about sports and no club exhibits that in rugby quite like the “Cherry and Whites”. It’s great to be partnered with a team who share our ambition as well as our appetite and drive for growth and success. We look forward to a long and successful collaboration.”

21Bet declared that its deal with Gloucester Rugby, which is to last for the entirety of the 2017-18 Premiership Rugby season, will see the 1,615-seat West Stand at the club’s Kingsholm Stadium renamed the 21Bet Terrace.

Established in 1873, Gloucester Rugby is one of the top professional rugby union sides in the United Kingdom and has won the Premiership Rugby title on three occasions. However, its most recent triumph came in 2008 with the Gloucestershire club finishing the 2016-17 season in the eighth spot.

“We’ve spoken to a number of potential betting partners and are pleased to announce the new relationship with 21Bet,” read a statement from Mike Turner, Commercial Director for Gloucester Rugby. “We believe 21Bet offers a great solution for supporters who like to bet online and are looking forward to working with [21Bet].”
