IGY Marinas has officially been selected as the marina operator for the high-profile Wynn Al Marjan Island Marina, located in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The announcement marks a pivotal expansion for IGY Marinas, representing its second destination in the Middle East, and is part of the company’s broader strategy to develop world-class marina experiences in luxury travel markets across the globe.
Chosen by Wynn Resorts, IGY Marinas will contribute to the marina’s success by offering design consultation during the pre-construction phase and overseeing operations and marketing efforts once the facility is open. The marina, which will form an integral part of the Wynn Al Marjan Island integrated resort, is being designed in collaboration with Marina Solutions International (MSI) — a partnership that aims to deliver a premier destination for yachting in the Arabian Gulf.
Creating a Regional Yachting Hub
Set for completion alongside the main resort in 2027, the marina will offer berthing facilities for up to 101 vessels, including superyachts measuring up to 85 meters in length. Engineered in line with international standards, the marina will incorporate state-of-the-art berthing technologies and deliver premium marine services that align with the rising demand for elite waterfront experiences in the Middle East.
Steve English, CEO of IGY Marinas, underscored the importance of the project, stating, “Our involvement in the Wynn Al Marjan Island project represents a significant milestone for IGY Marinas. We are excited to build on our existing presence in marina management in the Middle East and contribute to the creation of a world-class destination for yachting and gaming enthusiasts.”
MSI has played a foundational role in the development process since 2022, conducting feasibility assessments and crafting detailed design plans for the marina infrastructure.
James Beaver, Director at MSI, noted, “MSI has been working closely with Wynn Resorts on the Al Marjan Island Marina project since 2022. Our involvement from the start has been to provide an extensive feasibility study for the marina, establish its market position, provide conceptual and detailed marina designs and operational consultancy. We’re delighted that we could support Wynn and assist in the process of selecting a world-class operator in IGY. This marina is a huge opportunity for the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah to establish itself as a yachting destination. We look forward to the continued development of the marina and, once open, to seeing its success unfold long into the future.”
A Landmark Destination for Tourism and Luxury Living
Wynn Al Marjan Island is poised to become a transformative project for the country’s tourism and entertainment landscape. As the first casino resort in the UAE, the development will feature a 224,000-square-foot gaming area, making it the largest casino in the Middle East, and 1,530 luxurious rooms and suites along with a variety of high-end leisure offerings. Visitors will enjoy 22 restaurants, bars, and lounges, as well as live entertainment at a theater, a nightclub, and a beachfront club overlooking the Arabian Gulf.
The resort will also house expansive amenities including tropical landscaping, several swimming pools, a five-star spa, private cabanas, and a salon. In addition to its marina, the complex will include a 15,000-square-meter promenade lined with elite fashion boutiques, and a 7,500-square-meter venue designed for business meetings and special events.
The Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah has emerged as a compelling tourism destination, capitalizing on its natural beauty and heritage. According to Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA), 2024 was a record-setting year with 1.28 million overnight visitors. This surge reflects the Emirate’s ongoing efforts to meet its target of attracting 3.5 million annual guests by the end of the decade.
As the countdown to the 2027 grand opening continues, the partnership between Wynn Resorts, IGY Marinas, and MSI signals a bold new chapter in the UAE’s luxury tourism and yachting sector. The integrated resort and its advanced marina facilities aim not just to attract visitors but to redefine the standard for waterfront hospitality in the region.
