In an effort to have more hotel guest space for Connecticut visitors, the Mohegan Tribe began a project in 2015 to add a new hotel tower to the Mohegan Sun. Titled the Earth Tower, the project is now moving forward, to have 13 stories and 400 guest rooms.

The cost of the project is $130 million, with the Earth Tower being modeled after the design of the Sky Tower. The Sky Tower has 1,200 guest rooms, three times the amount the Earth Tower will have. The rooms at the new hotel will be a little smaller and will have more affordable reservation prices than the Sky Tower.

The first level of the new tower will consist of the lobby level while the next twelve floors will be used for guest rooms. On the first floor, guests will find a fitness center, spa and pool to use for recreational purposes. The Mohegan Tribe plans on taking reservations for the fall starting on July 1st.
