The month of February was a good one for the full-service casinos of Ohio. According to recent reports provided by the Ohio Casino Control Commission (pdf), the state saw a slight increase in earnings when comparing last month to February of 2017. In total, statewide revenues for casino gaming came in at $67.6 million, which is a 0.6% increase from the previous year.

Gambling venues in Cincinnati and Toledo led the charge, helping the state to see an increase in February 2018. The best improvement was seen at the Jack Cincinnati Casino. This gaming venue earned $17,052,513, which is just over 2% more than February of last year. Hollywood Casino Toledo also saw a slight increase of 1.3%, earning $15,674,625 for the month.

The Jack Cleveland Casino and the Hollywood Casino Columbus both saw declines when comparing February 2018 and 2017 totals. For the Jack Cleveland Casino, the venue brought in $16.3 million for the month which is just over 1% less than the previous year. The Hollywood Casino Columbus was down slightly less at 0.5% with just over $18 million in earnings.

When looking at month to month totals, February was also a good month. The state earned around $4.6 million more than in January when $63 million was generated.

When looking at the seven racinos of the state, venues that offer video slots and horse track racing, the earnings came in at $79.5 million. This was an increase of 1.5%. It was surprising to see that the revenues of the racinos remained on the high end as Belterra Park of Cincinnati was closed for close to two weeks due to flooding of the Ohio River.
