Construction has begun on a brand new Choctaw Casino in McAlester, OK and red steel beams are already being lifted into place. The new facility is scheduled to open next April and is being built right next to the old casino. The current casino remains open until the new casino is ready and then that building will be demolished.

The new casino will remain a one story building but will be larger than the old building with more than 35,000 square feet. The new casino floor will have areas for poker and blackjack tables and increases the slot machine numbers to 700. The larger casino is expected to create about 100 more jobs than the old facility had.
