According to the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians’ tribal government has collapsed.Out of 300 current members, about 50 may be excluded do to the fact that their ancestor was a man who was not full-blooded Indian. This could cause the Valley View Casino in San Diego County to close because only legitimate governments can operate the tribal casinos, as indicated by The Bureau of Indian Affairs and the National Indian Gaming Commission.

The San Pasqual Casino Development Group released an official statement indicating that they believed the San Pasqual Band would be able to find a resolution to their issues and that the casino would continue to flourish. They are looking forward to breaking ground on their Four Diamond Resort Hotel on August 25th. Currently, tribe members receive approximately $4,000 each from casino profits each month.
