Over the weekend the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority of Atlantic City was reportedly subject to a website hacking, though no information was breached during the attack. Hackers took over the website of the agency during the weekend, with no clue as to why the attack took place and who may have been behind the incident.
According to the CRDA, the hack took place at some point during Saturday night, with pro-terrorist messages being placed on the site including the phrase: “I am Muslim and I love jihad and I love isis”. Additional text referred to the Islamic State.
It was in the early morning hours on Sunday, around 10:30am, that the CRDA was able to undo the hack and restore the site by the afternoon hours. The Newark field office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation stated they are aware of the attack and would not comment if the incident was under investigation.
