KG Urban Enterprises has been under fire for some time as the group has continued to ask for extensions in their bid to develop a Foxwoods casino in New Bedford Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Gaming Commission was fed up with the developer, who consistently needed more time for financial backing. KG Urban Enterprises finally was able to meet a critical deadline set by the gambling regulators of the state to try and gain the third resort casino license available in Massachusetts.
The Massachusetts Gaming Commission has confirmed that the KG Urban Enterprises group has submitted the documents requested by the deadline of June 9th. The company would like to win the last resort casino license available in the state, with the other two belonging to MGM and Wynn. KG Urban has proposed their facility be located along the waterfront and would have a multi-million dollar price tag for completion.
The staff of the Gaming Commission are currently reviewing the documentation submitted and will not be releasing any information publicly at this time. The proposal for New Bedford will be voted on by city residents on the 23rd of this month, will also be under discussion at tomorrow’s meeting of the Commission.
The KG Urban group is currently in competition with Mass Gaming & Entertainment for the remaining casino license which would see a facility created in the southeastern portion of the state.
