The Duisburg Casino in Duisburg, Germany, will be holding a celebratory party to mark its 10th birthday this February, but also commemorate another milestone for the venue – becoming the most attended casino in Germany, according to an official press release from the Westspiel company.
The Duisburg Casino, has been one of the most popular German casinos ever since it first opened its doors to the public back in 2007. That same year, the casino saw a peak in interest and was able to attract 585,000 guests, but since then things have gotten slower for the industry. Thus, the casino’s 2016 attendance was over 400,000 visitors, more than any other German casino, but also a number they weren’t able to reach in five years.
The casino offers 33 table games where mostly roulette, Texas Hold’Em and blackjack are played, but also over a dozen of multiplayer roulette tables and more than 300 slot machines on its gaming floor. There’s also a 5-table poker room where Pot Limit Omaha and Texas Hold’Em can be found. The Duisburg Casino employs over 300 people across its different amenities, 230 of which work at the gaming facilities.
Commenting on the upcoming celebration, Jochen Braun, the casino’s director, said that Duisburg Casino is an unrivaled champion when compared to nearly 70 casinos across Germany. According to him, the casino has always been one of the prime contenders in the German casino industry and its charm hasn’t worn during its 10 year run, a fact they plan to celebrate with a huge party.
The birthday celebrations will start on the 18th of February, when casino players will be able to play at regular hours while being given complimentary coffee and cake during the day and snacks during the night. There will also be several performances to mark the occasion, as well as special €1010 raffles during daytime.
