Australian Gambling – A giant killing Aussie leads the final 18 in the WSOP Asia-Pacific Main Event set to continue at Melbourne’s Crown Casino today.

But among Victor Teng’s main challengers include WSOP player of the year contender Brandon Shack-Harris and two of the biggest names in Australian poker – Gary Benson and Jackie Glazier.

Teng was dominant on day 3, bagging the chip lead with 1,854,000 and putting himself into a strong position to launch an assault on firstly, the final table, and secondly the coveted WSOP APAC event.

Teng has had several big cashes in the past, including the Red Dragon Main Event at the Macau Poker Cup.

Melbournian Jason Giuliano, who was seriously struggling early in the day, shoved his way to second, bagging 1,203,000, with Kyle Montgomery ($1,196,000) the only other player to have more than $1 million chips.

The day had begun with 70 players remaining in the AU$10,000 Main Event and soon the big names started to fall.

The early casualties included Jonathan Duhamel, Byron Kaverman, Jeff Gross and Kyle Cheong.

With the top 36 players in the event cashing, it was another Australian, Kasra Bakhshee who was the unlucky one to finish one spot outside the money.
