The works on the expansion of the Bay Mills Resort & Casino in Michigan are progressing fast, which resulted in a fantastic, groundbreaking ceremony that was held by the Bay Mills Executive Council and Enterprise Team.

Much needed expansion:

The resort is located in the Upper Peninsula on the Scenic Lakeshore Drive in Brimley, Michigan

Richard LeBlanc, the General Manager, commented on this: “This marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Bay Mills Resort & Casino and the Bay Mills Indian Community. We are excited to celebrate the hard work that has culminated in this investment, and we look forward to growing our amenities to serve our great customers.”

The works on the resort will cost $85 million. The whole expansion will last for several years, but in the end, it will be worth the wait since the occupancy rates of the current hotel are almost always full.

The new hotel will mean a lot for residents since it will generate new jobs. However, not only new employees will benefit from the expansion, but the current ones as well – they will get the upgraded and renovated break room, which will contain the additional amenities.

The guests will also greatly benefit from the expansion since it will contain new amenities and more space for hotel guests to enjoy.

According to the plans, the new resort will include a three-story waterfront. On top of that, additional 134 rooms with spectacular balconies will be added, as well as a fantastic deli, spa with luxury massage therapy rooms, pool that contains a fabulous splash pad, and hot tubs.

The hotel will offer more amenities, such as a nail salon, fitness center, arcade, huge conference room, and fantastic storefront.

But the hotel itself isn’t the only thing that gets upgraded. According to Indian Gaming, the exterior plans are even more exquisite – the outside area will get new fishing piers, gardens, gazebos, and fantastic outdoor patios. On top of that, the hotel marina will be upgraded.

Huge step for BMIC:

Whitney Gravelle, a President of Bay Mills Indian Community (BMIC), said: “Our journey has been guided by the wisdom of our ancestors who have long been trailblazers in Indian Country. From establishing the first casino in the State of Michigan to pioneering new ideas, Bay Mills has always been at the forefront of innovation. Today, we continue their legacy with this new endeavor – a project that will not only elevate Bay Mills Resort but also the entire Eastern Upper Peninsula.”

The estimated completion date of the project is fall 2025. However, while the works are in progress, the patrons will be able to visit it.

The renovations were announced in September 2022, and back then, Gravelle said how proud she was of the Community and its growth over the past few years.
