On the heels of its multi-year deal with radio and podcasting company Audacy, the sportsbook platform of MGM Resorts International (MGM:NYSE), BetMGM, has now become an official gaming partner of the Detroit Tigers.
The new multi-year sponsorship agreement will see BetMGM obtain branding rights to include its moniker on scoreboards throughout Comerica Park, which serves as the home of the Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise, as well as integrated social media content, fan-focused promotions, and more.
Growing relationship:
“We’re excited to expand our relationship with BetMGM to feature the Detroit Tigers and Comerica Park,” said Peter Kent, Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships at the Detroit Tigers.
“Our fans will enjoy the enhancements this partnership provides to their experience, both at the ballpark and in rooting on the Tigers from home.”
Additionally, the exclusive sports betting division of MGM will be integrated across the American League Central division team’s digital and social platforms, including the official MLB Ballpark app., while its signage will be conspicuously featured on the out-of-town scoreboard and the speed pitch LED board at the team stadium in Downtown Detroit, which is also home to the Midwest state’s only commercial casinos, including MGM Grand, Greektown, and MotorCity.
Priority alliances:
Chief Revenue Officer for BetMGM, Matt Prevost also commented on the new alliance in the official announcement…
“From day one, it’s been a priority for us to develop deep relationships with Michigan‘s beloved sports teams. We look forward to our partnership with the Detroit Tigers and engaging with their fan base to offer best-in-class promotions and benefits only available on BetMGM.”
The sponsorship agreement with the Tigers follows BetMGM’s January launch of digital sports betting and iGaming app in the Great Lakes State, as a complement to its retail offering at MGM Grand Detroit’s BetMGM Sportsbook and Lounge. After that, BetMGM signed Michigan basketball legend and award-winning analyst Jalen Rose as a celebrity brand ambassador.
Also commenting on the tie-up, President of Midwest Group at MGM Resorts, David Tsai said…
“The Detroit Tigers are a central part of the Michigan sports scene and bring an undeniable energy to the city. MGM Grand Detroit is ready to welcome Tigers and sports betting fans to our BetMGM Sports Lounge before, during, and after games for an innovative and exciting experience.”
