The Mayweather v McGregor fight Saturday night in Las Vegas was one of the busiest and most profitable events ever handled by Betway Sportsbook in over 10 years in the business.
In an effort to keep the fun and excitement going, they are offering odds there will be a rematch either under boxing rules or a longer shot at Mayweather going onto McGregor’s turf and fighting again under UFC rules in 2018.
Betway’s Alan Alger, said: “The bet count throughout Saturday was similar to if a major football final was taking place that evening.
“Some of the early rounds for McGregor had liabilities that would have produced a record loss on any market we’ve ever offered. Thankfully, in the end, we couldn’t have picked a better outcome.
“It was one of the busiest and most profitable events in the history of the company.”
Now Betway Sportsbook is offering 7/2 that there will be a rematch in 2018 under boxing rules, and 33/1 that 2018 will see a bout between the two fought again under UFC rules.
One of Betway’s markets on Mayweather asks what he will do next and he’s currently 4/6 to compete at WrestleMania, 9/2 to buy a Las Vegas casino, and even 10/1 to run for US Senate.
When it comes to The Notorious, who suffered a tenth round TKO at the T-Mobile Arena after scaring most bookies for all of the first two rounds and some of them in the third, Betway has Tony Ferguson at 6/4 as the favorite to fight him next. Kevin Lee is 7/4, Mayweather 4/1 and Nate Diaz comes in at 5/1 on today’s market – but those numbers could change fast with any news out of the UFC.
