The WSOP Online series just started over the weekend via GGPoker and has already seen several events finish up and winners named. Each of the 54 events provides a gold bracelet, so players are doing their best to be the last one standing. The series began on July 19 after starting at the WSOP sites in Nevada and New Jersey earlier in the month. The GGPoker version continues through September 6. This weekend, GGPoker is offering two of the biggest value events. These are events to watch as the player participation numbers should be sky high.
Two Huge Events:
The Day 2s of the WSOP Online COLOSSUS and the WSOP Online PLOSSUS are set for this weekend. Each event has a $400 buy-in and will offer up a whopping $4 million in total prize money. COLOSSUS has the largest guarantee at $3 million. The online poker tournament has 14 opening flights, giving players plenty of time to take part.
Players start with 50,000 in chips and there are unlimited re-entries during the late registration period. Day 2 doesn’t start until the 26th, so players still have plenty of time to enter.
The PLOSSUS has a $1 million prize pool and offers 15 opening flights. Players are also given 50,000 chips to start in this event and can access unlimited re-entry until late registration ends.
Both of these events offered satellites as well, so players could earn this spot into the tournament at a lower price point. The direct satellites started at $3.24, making them affordable for everyone.
It will be interesting to see once the weekend comes to an end, just how many people competed and if the large prize pools were surpassed. It would be surprising to see either event come up short due to player excitement surrounding WSOP events via GGPoker. It is also important to note that this is the first time that international players have been able to compete online to win a gold WSOP bracelet, so the player turnout has been quite large in various events.
