The Port of Palm Beach ocean casino operator discontinued the cruises less than two weeks after their maiden voyage on July 17 due to damage of the ship’s communication system from a lightening strike. Blue Horizon decided to not only repair the radio gear, but pulled the ship into dry dock to fit the vessel with new engines as well.
The operator had originally planned to be back on the water by Labor Day, but has announced a further postponement for an additional two weeks.
Blue Horizon’s vessel, formerly known as Island Breeze II, features table games, tournaments, bingo, and slots – as well as the only legal sports book in southern Florida. Their Las Vegas style cruise schedule includes five-hour trips Tuesday through Saturday, and a six-hour trip on Sundays.
