1,000 of the Sands China Ltd staff will now have the opportunity to take part in a new career development program offered by the company. The program was created to provide casino employees the option to take on positions in non-gaming sectors of the company’s properties such as with the Sands Macau or the Parisian Macao.

The new program is called ‘My Way’ and will provide the participating staff with the option to work in non-gaming sections of the company including food service, business development, security, guest relations, facilities, housekeeping and wardrobe. The program is not like a standard work transfer, according to the Sands, as the program will allow the staff members to try a variety of positions before they apply to be placed permanently.

Sands China reported in a statement that participants of the program, which is voluntary, will have the opportunity to take on a new position at the properties of the company, including the yet to open Parisian Macao. Individuals will work in the new roles within the company for a two year time frame with the possibility to extend the work period for an additional year in Macau. Team members can then return to the original position of employment at any time or choose to stay in the new position taken.

Sands China Ltd Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Antonio Ramirez, stated that the Sands China is pleased to be able to offer the new program, the latest career development opportunity, for their local team members. Ramirez stated that the team members are the greatest asset of the company and the success of Sands China would not be possible without the employee dedication and professionalism.

This is the company’s latest effort to invest further in their employees to provide new opportunities to broaden the career horizons of their staff. New skill sets, training and experience will be gained, all while supporting the diversification of Macao and promoting growth of the city as a world center of tourism and leisure.

As many as 1,200 employees of Sands China have shown interest in the new program.
