After a renovation and $155 million expansion to the former Cherokee Casino Resort, the Cherokee Nation opened the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tulsa on August 3rd.It is only the seventh Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in the world.
The ribbon cutting ceremony and address was delivered by Chief Chad Smith.Also on hand were Entertainment CEO David Stewart, and singer Toby Keith who is the celebrity representative for the casino which is home to his restaurant “I Love This Bar”.
The new resort has 350 rooms, over 125,000 feet gaming floor, five restaurants, five nightclubs and entertainment venues, and a 2,500 seat event center that will open next year.The Cherokee Hills Golf Club is on the adjacent property.Additionally, there will soon be a state-of-the-art swimming pool like the one at Hard Rock Las Vegas.
Cherokee Nation has always dared to be different from other casino operators, and they believe taking on the Hard Rock brand raises the bar for the competition and really sets them apart.
