The Chinese government began slowly easing the tight restrictions on travel to Macau a couple months ago but really loosened up in September. The restrictions that were put in place last year, hurt Macau’s gambling revenues so the casinos are full of hope that the coming months will see a return to the profits that they enjoyed before the restrictions. Much of the revenue for the Macau casino industry comes from tourists from mainland China so this is good news for the gambling enclave.
