The Diamond Jo riverboat casino in Dubuque, Iowa has closed after fourteen years of operation, to be replaced by an inland casino of the same name.

The downtown Diamond Jo Casino cost $84.1 million, and was slated to open a week after the closure of the riverboat casino. It will house greater than nine hundred slot machines. Non gaming based features will include three of both restaurants and bars, along with a meeting or banquet hall, and a thirty lane bowling alley.
