Official opening ceremonies were held on June 12 for the family entertainment destination at City of Dreams Manila. Attending were Mr. Lawrence Ho, co-chairman and CEO of Melco Crown Entertainment and DreamWorks Animation Chief Executive Officer Mr. Jeffrey Katzenberg.

The cutting edge 5,000 sq. meter creative play-center has enjoyed more visits than originally anticipated when the facility first launched with a soft opening in March.

DreamPlay features twelve original attractions including learning Kung Fu with Po, the Kung Fu Panda; exploring Shrek’s swamp with the big green ogre himself; testing dragons for flight alongside Hiccup and Toothless; embarking on seafaring adventures with the Penguins of Madagascar. Each franchise area represents a different type of interactive learning, with Kung Fu Panda teaching physical activity and agility; Madagascar involving physics, buoyancy and trajectories; Shrek teaching food preparation and cooking skills at ‘Cooking with Gingy’; and ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ exploring the principles of flight and aerodynamics.

The ‘DreamPlay by DreamWorks’ play-center is open every day from 10am to 10pm, and is situated on Level 2, Shops at the Boulevard retail arcade in City of Dreams Manila.

City of Dreams is the largest integrated resort to open so far in Manila’s Entertainment City. The casino held a soft launch in December last year and officially opened on February 2nd.
