The soon-to-launch Fanatics online sports betting platform will be supported by Amelco, an international sports betting software and B2B supplier company. The deal will see Fanatics’ platform powered by the source code and software from Amelco.

B2B partnership:

Fanatics confirmed that the visitors on the platform will be able to take advantage of Amelco’s state-of-the-art software for the best player experience. The operator will also have the prestigious software developer’s source code operative on the platform after the negotiations that started in April 2022 to be wound up in a successful deal.

Hearing for license:

The new launch of Fanatics‘ sports betting platform in Massachusetts is expected soon after the operator proves compliance with the requirements of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission. The Commission held a Category 3 online sports betting license hearing for Fanatics today, with the hearing scheduled to continue tomorrow. The hearing will be finalized with votes deciding upon the operator’s eligibility to be awarded Massachusetts online sports betting license for the state.

Partnership with Amelco confirmed:

An important component of Fanatics’ operations will be the software base that will power the operator’s platform. The ongoing indications that Amelco would be the crucial technology supplier for the launch have now been confirmed: “We did partner with Amelco…to purchase their core-code base,” said Matt King, Chief Executive Officer of Fanatics Betting and Gaming, during the hearing.

He added: ”This is important because it is a proven code base and operating platform in the U.S., as well as internationally, so we feel very good that we were able to build our business on the back of a world-class and proven sports wagering technology.” Amelco has provided the code for a number of international online sportsbooks and several U.S. sportsbook operators. It will now provide Fanatics’ player account management system and online sports wagering system with the same features.

The hearing continues tomorrow:

The Fanatics application hearing before the gaming commissioners will continue in tomorrow’s session starting at 10 a.m. The commissioners saw the company presentation today, while the product demonstration will take place in an executive session tomorrow. The session will be closed to the public. Fanatics Sportsbook is currently licensed to operate sports betting in Ohio and Maryland, hoping to add the Massachusetts license to the portfolio still tomorrow.

According to its CEO, the company hopes that it will launch its sports betting services by the end of Q1 2023.  King also said that the company set the goal of going live in all available U.S. markets by September 2023. The executive hearing of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission is an important milestone for Fanatics in reaching the ambitious goal.
