The city of Tallinn, Estonia hosted a historic event from November 30 to December 3, 2023. The groundbreaking Queens of Tallinn 2023 poker festival was held in the luxurious Olympic Park Casino and Hilton Hotel. A series of poker events with 150 players and the significant prize pool would be interesting news for any poker enthusiast. But the fact that the 150 players competing in the Tallinn poker arena were all women makes the Queens of Tallinn 2023 festival a unique poker experience!

Women-Only Poker Festival:

The four-day event was the first-ever women-only poker festival in Europe. The tournament included a range of exciting events and 24-hour cash games. According to the organizers, the event was not just about playing cards but rather an act of celebration of women in the world of poker. The unprecedented festival saw Lithuanian player Marta Porter as the winner of the €350 buy-in Queens of Tallinn 2023 Main Event held on December 3, 2023.

According to a source, the Queens of Tallinn festival was organized by OlyBet to attract more than 150 players from 15 different countries. The festival ran for four days to host a total of eleven events, out of which ten exclusively featured female poker players. As reported, the main event gathered 65 buy-ins and offered a €19,246 prize pool to the finalists. The rewards were distributed among eight players that made their way to the finals.

Marta Porter Wins Final Game:

Lithuanian player Marta Porter was reportedly the favorite for the victory since the beginning of the tournament to the final game. She dominated in the finals and won the first prize of €6,167. As reported by the source, Estonian competitor Catlin Muur secured the second place to win €4,050, with another Lithuanian Indre Martoviciute winning the third position and the €2,740 prize.  The festival also included the Ladies and Gentlemen tournament featuring both female and male players to see experienced Estonian poker tournament player Imre Leibold winning the game.

Christer Larsson, OlyBet Group Poker Director, reportedly said: ‘’With the first women’s poker festival, we wanted to give women more opportunities to test themselves in a competitive situation against other female players. We are delighted with the positive feedback from so many women.” Female players are increasingly taking part in poker tournaments. According to the source, a recent research has revealed a 22% increase in female poker players across Britain in 2022. The European first women-only poker festival held in Tallinn, Estonia is yet another testimony about the trend.
