The hotel and casino lobbies will be the locations for a traditional tribal ceremony and formal grand opening celebrations at Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino in Coursegold, California Friday afternoon. Festivities begin at 4pm and speakers from the casino, tribe, broader Native American community, and local civic leaders will be featured.

After closing temporarily in October 2014, the Chukchansi casino re-opened with limited services on New Year’s Eve. Today’s formal opening will see all food and beverage outlets in service as well as most of the hotel rooms becoming available. All 36 gaming tables and about 1,700 machines will be in service.

The facility is at full staff with about 1,000 returning and new employees on duty, an increase of more than 100 since the soft opening December 31st.

The casino is giving away $25,000 in cash today along with a new truck to celebrate the grand opening.
