British software and services supplier Playtech has announced that Netherlands-headquartered sport betting company, Fortuna Entertainment Group (FEG), has completed the “migration” of its omni-channel sportsbook in Poland onto the technology leader’s Information Management Solution (IMS) platform.

The integration follows the launch of the Fortbet Holdings Ltd subsidiary’s Playtech-powered sportsbooks in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, with additional integrations in Croatia and Romania forthcoming.

Commenting on the migration in an official press release, Chief Executive Officer for Fortuna Entertainment Group, Per Widerstrom, said…

“Our strategic partnership with Playtech continues to be integral to our growth plans, as well as our successes so far. This migration will offer Polish customers a leading user experience, and more broadly it confirms our omni-channel leadership in Central and Eastern Europe.”

Planned migrations:

The strategic move is the most recent development in the companies’ onmi-channel partnership in Eastern and Central Europe with Croatia being the fifth country planned to go live later in the year with IMS as the core gaming platform and the FEG sportsbook integrated to it.

For its part, Playtech Chief Operating Officer, Shimon Akad, added…

“This is just the latest step in what continues to be an impressive growth trajectory for Fortuna, and we know there is a lot more to come. As well as highlighting the power of Playtech ONE as a solution for licences, this is also a prime example of how Playtech can be the technology provider of choice for companies as they expand and build their offerings in new markets.”

Strategic move:

The Republic of Poland is the latest country where the company established in 1990 can now manage its players from one platform and deliver a single 360 view of them across all migrated countries, in addition to being able to utilize Playson’s responsible gambling tools as well as its player engagement center, according to the news release.

Since first partnering with the London-headquartered firm on August 25, 2016, Fortuna has grown into the leading regulated betting and gaming operator in Central and Eastern Europe. A highlight of the partnership includes the launch of the very first Czech Republic (Fortuna Game) online casino.

Fortbet takeover:

In January 2018, Fortbet Holdings Ltd, the majority shareholder (79.8% at the time) in Fortuna Entertainment Group, launched a takeover offer for the company. Part of the Czech-Slovak investment group Penta Investments, Fortbet reached an agreement with Fortuna for CZK 182.50 valuing it at CZK 9.49B ($447.83 million) at the time.

Following the successful takeover, in October 2019, Fortuna migrated its sports betting shop in Slovakia onto Playtech’s IMS platform after being originally initiated in 2018.

Shares in Isle of Man-based Playtech plc (LON:PTEC) were trading at 230.10 GBP in London at close on Thursday.
