In eastern Russia, the state-run Primorsky Krai Development Corporation has reportedly revealed that the coming second phase of the Tigre de Cristal integrated casino resort is set to feature a substantial shopping center as well as an indoor beach club.

Development to feature artificial beaches:

According to a report from GGRAsia, the information was included in a Friday press release from the government-owned entity, which also featured a description of the indoor beach club as offering swimming pools and artificial beaches as well as other recreational facilities.

Plans for late-2020 opening:

Owned by Summit Ascent Holdings Limited and located some 31 miles north of Vladivostok in the Primorye Integrated Entertainment Resort zone, the Asia-facing Tigre de Cristal opened its $175 million first phase in 2015 complete with 121 hotel rooms and suites as well as a casino offering some 769 slots and 67 gaming tables.

The company controlled by Hong Kong-based gaming magnate Lawrence Ho Yau Lung of Melco International Development Limited fame is now reportedly hoping to inaugurate a second $500 million stage by the second half of 2020 complete with an additional 500 hotel rooms spread across two hotels alongside a food court and extra gaming space.

Hopes for ‘foreign mass’ appeal:

For its part, Summit Ascent Holdings Limited used its most recent interim report to explain that it was currently ‘finalizing design and financing options’ for the second phase of its Tigre de Cristal venue and hopes to start construction ‘in the spring of 2019’. The Monday update from the Hong Kong-listed firm detailed that the coming development is to be ‘geared to appeal to the foreign mass and rolling chip customer’ and feature ‘extensive dining, entertainment and retail facilities anchored by a large premium outlet mall.’

Summit Ascent Holdings Limited’s filing reportedly read…

“Assuming that our own phase-two project and the other future operators’ development plans remain on track, we may see the benefits of a ‘cluster’ effect as early as 2021.”

May soon have local competition:

GGRAsia further added that Tigre de Cristal is the only casino currently open in the Primorye Integrated Entertainment Resort zone although it could soon be joined by the Naga Vladivostok development from Cambodian firm NagaCorp Limited in advance of local entity Diamond Fortune Holdings inaugurating the initial phase of its planned $900 million Selena World Resort and Casino.
