Hot on the heels of their Q1 2021 earnings report and iGaming technology company Gaming Innovation Group Inc. (GiG) (GIG:Oslo) has gone live in Ireland with Slotbox Limited, a new brand created by the island country’s leading gaming and casino operator, Coastline Gaming.
The long-term agreement between the two firms, which was originally inked in October 2020, has powered the launch of the new online casino, operating under the name, “Slotbox,” by way of GiG’s iGaming platform and omnichannel solution, marking a “significant milestone” for the Dublin-based group and a “first step” in its digital transformation.
Player experience:
Commenting on the launch, Director for Slotbox, Conor O’Donnell, stated in GiG’s press release that they are…
“really pleased” to see stage 1 of the project some to fruition. And that “everyone involved has worked hard to create an offering that will deliver a first-class gaming experience for our customers.”
“We are particularly excited about the roll out of the omnichannel features which will provide a seamless experience for our players,” O’Donnell added.
Thanks to the tech company’s frontend framework, Slotbox players will be able to enjoy a competitive online experience during their time on the site that boasts a “unique look and feel.” Additionally, players across all channels will benefit from a dual registration function that enables a single seamless sign-up process. Another feature, a shared loyalty system, gives users the opportunity to earn online loyalty points and coins whether they’re playing offline or on.
Smooth transition:
In the coming months, the new casino brand will also roll out various features to facilitate an “uninterrupted player journey” between the land-based/retail and online sites.

The new brand was founded by one of the leading gaming and casino operators in Ireland, Coastline Gaming. The which currently boasts eight land-based locations in its portfolio, including:

While the Irish company’s [Slotbox Limited] online presence remains limited, the partnership with GiG will aid in bringing it up to date and more able to compete in what is an increasingly digital market.
Quarter earnings::
Meanwhile, according to its May 5, 2021, release, GiG reported Q1 2021 revenues of €18.3m,up 64 percent, and an EBITDA of €4.6m, up 674 percent while normalised revenues were €15.4m, an increase of 44 percent, and normalised revenues for Platform Services were €5.2m, a swell of 19 percent. CEO Brown said they are “happy with the overall progress,” citing “the work and strategic initiatives pushed through in the last 12 months” as the driver of the “strong results.”
