Cascades Casino Penticton, Gateway Casinos & Entertainment’s (Gateway) latest endeavor, will celebrate its grand opening on April 5, 2017, at 5pm, the company recently announced.
The casino, located on Vees Dr in Penticton, British Columbia, features 45,000 square feet of entertainment space with a large gaming floor, 300 slot machines and electronic roulette, and 10 table games offering blackjack, three card poker, and Fast Action Hold’em. Other amenities include Gateway’s two signature restaurants; the Match Eatery & Public House, which features entertainment and live music on the weekends and the brand’s first rooftop patio; and The Buffet, which offers brunch, lunch, and dinner selections at one set price.
Gateway CEO, Tony Santo, said, “Gateway is proud to invest $25 million in Penticton and bring up to 150 new employees for a total of approximately 300 team members to the community.” Santo added, “Cascades Casino Penticton will be a significant addition to the local economy and entertainment landscape of Penticton, according to the news release.
As part of the grand opening festivities, guests will be treated to live entertainment and also take a picture with showgirls or meet Elvis as he belts out hits throughout the casino. Additionally, guests will be able to take part in the Cascades of Cash promotion, which will also kick off tomorrow. Patrons need only to swipe the Encore Rewards card to qualify to win $1,000,000, instantly. Also included in the promotion, are daily instant win prizes consisting of cash, food & beverage, bonus ballots, and player points. Up for grabs to the first 300 people through the doors at 5pm at the grand opening celebration is a lucky envelope that just might contain as much as $50 in Free Play/Match Play.

Construction began on May 2, 2016, for the $25 million Cascades Casino Penticton, after a unanimous vote hosted by the Penticton City Council on January 4 last year, approved Gateway’s application to relocate its Lake City Casino to the South Okanagan Events Centre. The casino is located next to the events center.
