iGaming Business – A number of leading European betting companies have collaborated to form the German Sports Betting Association.

The organisation will aim to encourage the implementation of “legally stable sports betting regulation” in the country, whilst acting against “game manipulation, gambling addiction and black markets.

The association’s 11 founding members are Admiral Sportwetten, Betfair, BetterBet, Cashpoint, Deutsche Sportwetten, Hillside (New Media), Ladbrokes, Mybet, Stanleybet, Tipico and World of Sportsbetting.

BetterBet chief executive Mathias Dahms, the president of the organisation, described the current legal uncertainty in the German betting market as “untenable”.“Our goal is to remove the legal uncertainty and to ensure safe betting, both for consumers and providers,” he said.
