In April, the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians announced their expansion plans for the Gun Lake Casino, located in Wayland, Michigan. The tribe is spending $76 million on the expansion, bringing a new buffet, additional space to the gaming floor and an expansion of Stage 131, the concert venue of the facility.
The tribe has stated that the concert venue and the buffet should be open by May with the remaining expansion projects completed by the early fall. Because of the expansion, the casino expects to hire over 100 new employees. Three job fairs will be taking place this month in order for the tribe to find the employees they need for the expanded spaces.
The first job fair will take place in Grand Rapids at the Crossroads Conference Center on March 6th. Interested individuals have from 10am until 3pm to attend this job fair. On Thursday, March 9th, the Radisson Banquet Room located in Kalamazoo will host the second job fair, this one also running from 10am until 3pm. On Saturday, March 11th, the Tribal Government Complex will be hosting a job fair, from 9am until 3pm.
