American casino operator, Hard Rock International, has announced that it has appointed international law and finance expert, Ado Machida (pictured), to serve as the next President of its Hard Rock Japan subsidiary.
Casino license campaign:
The Orlando-based operator has a presence in some 74 countries and used an official Monday press release to detail that Machida will now work to help it secure one of three Japanese casinos licenses that are due to be handed out as a result of July’s passage of the Integrated Resort Implementation Bill.
Trans-Pacific experience:
Owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, Hard Rock International is responsible for twelve casino including the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Atlantic City in New Jersey as well as the smaller Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Las Vegas. It declared that Machida is joining its ranks from management consulting firm, Navigators Global LLC, where he had advised manufacturers, financial services firms and technology organizations about expanding across the Pacific Ocean.
‘Foreign affairs’ know-how:
Jim Allen, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for Hard Rock International, stated that Machida ‘is well-versed in foreign affairs’ and has also held specialized roles in ‘international law, finance, business development and team building’ including as Policy Implementation Director for the transition effort of United States President Donald Trump.

Legal qualifications:
Hard Rock explained that Machida holds law degrees from Kyoto University and New York University of Law and served as Chief Domestic Policy Officer for former United States Vice-President Dick Cheney after holding varied leadership and advisory roles for past United States Senator Bob Dole including during his 1996 Presidential campaign.
Japanese ‘understanding’:
Edward Tracy, Chief Executive Officer for Hard Rock International’s Hard Rock Asia subordinate, proclaimed that Machida has held positions with Goldman Sachs and Company in New York and Tokyo while furthermore having experience with Boston Consulting Group.
