While a new bowling and entertainment complex is already being created on-site at the casino, the Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort has announced that they plan to expand even more with a new convention center and fourth hotel tower. The tribal council has approved the construction of the new facilities, plans that include a convention space of 100,000 square feet along with a new parking deck and 600 to 800 new guest rooms.
Harrah’s Cherokee General Manager and Regional Senior VP, Brooks Robinson, stated that Harrah’s is excited to be able to add yet another amenity to the brand and offer accommodations and meeting space to the convention sales business that has been able to take root in North Carolina.
According to Robinson, the additional hotel rooms will allow the casino to accommodate leisure travelers as well as destination travelers. Tourism dollars will increase to Western North Carolina along with Qualla Boundary, the Cherokee’s territory. The project will also help to employ construction workers as well as individuals at Harrah’s Cherokee once the venues are complete.
