Manufacturer and supplier of gaming equipment, IGT Global Solutions Corporation, has partnered with William Hill U.S., the American subsidiary of British bookmaking giant William Hill PLC (LON:WMH), agreeing a multi-year deal to provide U.S. lotteries with a full-service sports betting service.

According to the official press release

The new partnership between the wholly-owned subsidiary of International Game Technology PLC (“IGT”) (NYSE:IGT) and what is the largest sports betting business in the U.S., will provide lotteries in the states with a “fully-managed solution” that will fulfill their current and future needs in the sports betting vertical. And by doing so will maximize each state’s revenues while ensuring an innovative, attractive and reliable service for players.

About the deal:

The new partnership builds on the already successful pairing between the two companies, the result of which was the Uk-based IGT receiving the Rhode Island sports betting contract to run with William Hill. Per the terms of the partnership deal, together the companies will consider all future bid requests and sports betting opportunities from U.S. lotteries on a mutually exclusive basis, according to the press release.

Under the new agreement, the combined offer to U.S. lotteries will encompass IGT’s PlayShot™ sports betting platform for land-based, online, retail and mobile along with William Hill’s operational, strategic, trading and player management expertise in U.S. sports books.

Further expands reach:

The PlayShot sports betting platform from IGT already provides a dedicated B2B solution for operators of sports books in four U.S. states.

William Hill provides risk management services or operates by way of its own partner brands in each of the five states including Nevada, Delaware, New Jersey, West Virginia and Mississippi, with full-scale legalized sports betting. New York, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island have all recently passed sports betting bills.

What they’re saying:

Chief Executive Officer for IGT North America, Renato Ascoli (pictured above) said…

Through this unique partnership, our customers will be able to enter this new activity with total confidence and trust in the service being offered.

“IGT is uniquely positioned as a leader in both lottery and sports betting technologies to deliver innovative solutions that will expand the possibilities for players and for lotteries themselves in this exciting new market. By forming this partnership with William Hill, we are able to bring to our lottery customers in every state a world-class combination of technology and operational expertise.”

Also commenting on the new partnership agreement, Chief Executive Officer for William Hill U.S., Joe Asher (pictured left) said…

“We are delighted to be expanding our relationship with IGT to address the U.S. lottery market together.

“William Hill’s track record as an operator globally, and our clear leadership as a sports book operator in the U.S., in particular, mean that U.S. lotteries can be confident that in choosing IGT and us together, they will be benefiting from a reliable, trustworthy, and responsibly-managed solution – maximizing revenues to each state with a quality product and service.”
