Online poker room partypoker has been hosting the Irish Open Online with players accessing tournament options via the festival. Just recently, the Main Event finished up with Pablo Silva claiming the first place win. Silva was able to defeat Andras Nemeth in heads-up play to earn the win.
Main Event Details:
The Main Event had a huge 2,945 player field with 51 players coming back to compete during Day 3. At the beginning of the day, it was Sihao Zhang who held the chip lead and would eventually claim a third place finish after being knocked out by Silva. Zhang held an ace-six and saw his tournament life end after Silva flopped a flush draw and earned a diamond on the turn to win the hand.
Heads up play would begin between Silva and Nemeth with Silva having a 2 to 1 chip lead. However, the chip stacks would soon level out and eventually, Silva would take the lead. Nemeth would try to make a comeback and even doubled up at one point during the poker tournament, but the final hand came soon after Silva took the final lead.
On the last hand, Nemeth flopped top pair and then turned a two pair. Yet, the turn card game Silva a straight and once Nemeth shoved all-in, he was quick to call. The river was no good for Nemeth and Silva would win the hand, becoming the 2020 Irish Open Online champion.
