The Cowlitz Tribe is hosting a job fair for potential casino and hospitality workers on Saturday, January 14. Those wishing to gain one of the more than 1,000 positions at Ilani Resort in La Center should plan to be at the Clark County Event Center at the fairgrounds between 10am and 6pm.

Representatives request job seekers to “dress in professional attire and bring copies of their resumes and cover letters.” Interviews will take place at the Event Center on the day of the jobs fair.

The $510 million casino and entertainment center under development by Salishan-Mohegan LLC in collaboration with the Cowlitz Indian Tribe is expected to open in the springtime and needs to hire workers to fill all positions. Ilani will provide training for croupiers, dealers, and slot attendants.

Some of the career paths currently being offered include:

In a press release Kara Fox-LaRose, Ilani president and general manager said, “This is an exciting time for the project as we endeavor to hire the majority of our workforce in early 2017,”

“We are looking forward to this career fair and having in-person interviews with potential employees, as we continue to receive a large amount of inquiries from local job seekers. This investment in the Southwest Washington community will provide much-needed jobs, and we look forward to assembling the Ilani team.”

The Ilani Casino Resort is located off the I-5 interchange outside of La Center, Washington. With financing help from the Mohegan tribe who started in the gaming business with the Connecticut Mohegan Sun and have now branched out internationally, ground was broken in October 2015.

Gaming facilities at the resort will span over 134,400 square feet and the resort will feature over 250,000 sq ft of shopping space, over 145,000 sq ft of entertainment and convention space, an eight-story, 250-room hotel, and parking for 7,250 vehicles along with 200 RV’s.
