In Macau, local junket operator David Group has reportedly announced that it will be ceasing its ten-table VIP operation for the recently-opened casino inside The Macau Roosevelt hotel from next week.
According to a report from GGRAsia, David Group only signed the deal to supply VIP junket services to the 1950s Hollywood-inspired Taipa venue in July but it will now be terminating all ties from the end of October 30.
David Group reportedly told GGRAsia that its decision had been reached after ‘some analysis’ of its need to ‘optimize our management and integrate our resources’ while the firm now intends to concentrate on providing VIP gaming clients with ‘brand new [and] comfortable gaming sites’.
The junket operator is reportedly set to continue providing its clients with services at the downtown Wynn Macau integrated casino resort, which is operated by the Wynn Macau Limited subsidiary of American giant Wynn Resorts Limited. In addition, it inaugurated a new VIP club inside Studio City Macau in May while last month saw it launch a similar operation for Galaxy Entertainment Group Limited’s flagship Galaxy Macau property in the Cotai district.
GGRAsia reported that the 209-room Macau Roosevelt welcomed its first guests on July 29 while its casino featuring 30 baccarat tables was essentially a venue that had been relocated from the nearby Macau Jockey Club in the summer and operated under a license held by SJM Holdings Limited.
