The newest casino and hotel facility in the state of Kansas is less than one month away from opening. Officials of the Kansas Crossing Casino & Hotel have announced that the facility has scheduled its grand opening for April 8th. The $80 million property is located near Pittsburg and will feature over 625 slot machines and 16 gaming tables on the casino floor along with 123 guest rooms at the Hampton Inn and Suites hotel property.

During the opening day, the property will offer several promotions as well as commemorative item giveaways in limited quantities. The casino will be open for business along with the restaurants of the property, Two Brothers Mining Co. and the Bronco Bar. The indoor entertainment venue will feature the very first concert during the grand opening celebration with the act announced at a later date.

Kansas Crossing Casino won the opportunity to be the last lottery-served casino for the state in June of 2015 and has since faced legal challenges from a passed-over casino developer as well as Cherokee County. In January, the Kansas Supreme Court heard arguments from Brandon and Rodney Steven, individuals involved in the Castle Rock Casino Resort project, which was rejected during the bidding process, along with Cherokee County, as they tried to stop Kansas Crossing from continuing with development.

The Kansas Crossing Casino faced delays and filed for time extensions as the hearings took place. However, construction continued and the venue should be ready to open in April, after first having a March 20th expected opening date.
