The six casinos operating in the state of Maryland had a successful June, with recent revenue figures showing an overall increase of 14.1% for the month, with each gaming venue increasing earnings for the second month running.

In total, June resulted in $148.9 million in earnings, which is much higher than the June 2017 totals of $130 million. Figures from the Maryland Lottery and Gaming showed that the MGM National Harbor continues to be the front runner, with an 18.3% increase from June 2017, with $59.3 million in earnings.

The second place position went to Live! Casino & Hotel, who saw an increase of 15.1%, with $48.1 million in earnings. The casino just recently debuted their new hotel last month, which should have helped to see an increase in visitors to the property, which in turn would push up gaming profits. While the top two casinos saw a nice jump in earnings, they did not see the largest increase for the month. The Ocean Downs Casino was up a whopping 29.8%, with $7.2 million earned for June.

Smaller monthly gains were seen by the remaining three casinos of the state. The Horseshoe Casino Baltimore was up 3.3% with $22.8 million in earnings while the Hollywood Casino Perryville, was up 4.5% with $6.6 million in earnings. The Rocky Gap Casino Resort rounds out the list with $4.7 million in earnings, an increase of 5.2%.

The state of Maryland continues to see solid revenues by way of casino gaming. The revenues earned by the casinos help to contribute to the state’s Education Trust Fund as well as the horse racing industry, General Fund and local impact grants.
