To provide additional space for overnight guests, Maryland Live! has been working on a new hotel complex that comes complete with a $200 million price tag. The hotel tower will include 310 guest rooms as well as additional features such as a fitness center, spa and concert center. The hotel will not only provide more guest lodging but will also add shopping and dining options and entertainment.
According to CardPlayer, the Cordish Companies, owner of the casino, will be placing the final steel beam on the hotel structure in a topping-off ceremony next week. Once the beam is in place on the 17th story, the casino has stated the hotel tower will be Anne Arundel County’s tallest building.
Along with the new additions, the property will be adding around 1,000 parking spaces, which will help cater to the influx of guests from the new hotel. The casino-hotel complex in its entirety will be re-branded as Live! Casino & Hotel.
With $200 million being spent on the additions, the project is the largest investment and enhancement at the property since the casino opened more than five years ago in 2012. The project was first announced back in June of last year and the initial groundbreaking ceremony took place in September 2016.
As announced earlier this month, in January 20017, the Card Player Poker Tour will be making a stop at Maryland Live!, where the state’s largest poker room at 15,000 square feet and 52 tables makes its home, according to CardPlayer.
