Las Vegas-based global hospitality and entertainment company MGM Resorts International (NYSE:MGM) on Thursday named New Orleans Native Bill Boasberg as the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino’s new president and chief operating officer.
The Sun Herald reports that MGM said Boasberg will assume his new role as COO later this year upon completion of licensing requirements. He succeeds Marcus Glover, who came from Ohio, where he was senior VP and general manager for Caesars Entertainment’s Horseshoe Casino Cleveland. In July, MGM announced that Glover would be the next president and COO of Atlantic City’s Borgata Hotel Casino.
Chief operating officer regional operations for MGM, Anton Nikodemus, said, “We are pleased to announce Mr. Boasberg’s return home to the South, where his knowledge of the region, industry expertise and financial acumen will help position the Beau for even greater success,” according to the news agency.
Boasberg, a University of New Orleans alum, served as General Manager of MGM National Harbor LLC until May 2015 and led the team there through the resort’s December opening. Prior to that, for just shy of five years he was Senior Vice President & Chief Financial officer for MGM Resorts International.
Boasberg was promoted to president and COO of Beau Rivage in June.
