Resort Fees increased at the Bellagio, Vdara and Aria on August 1st, after MGM Resorts decided to increase the fees to $45 per day. These fees are known by many names, from facilities fees to amenities fees and are extra charges that visitors face when traveling to one of these Las Vegas Strip venues. The change occurs around one year after the last resort fee increase.

Increased Fees:

The daily resort fee of $45 is now $6 more per day than the previous fee. The Bellagio, Aria and Vdara now match up their fee pricing to other Strip casino-resorts including The Venetia, the Palazzo and the Wynn Las Vegas.

Brian Ahern, a spokesman for MGM, commented on the change by stating: “We are constantly evaluating prices to ensure they properly reflect the business landscape and the services and amenities they support.”

MGM Resorts had not increased resort fees since March of last year. The decision to increase the rates comes just a few months after top executives within the company announced that there were no plans to increase the fees this year.

Fee Increase 2018:

Last year, MGM announced the resort charges for the Vdara, Bellagio and Aria was increasing to $39. At the same time, other properties of the company jumped as well, but to a slightly lower amount of $37. Mandalay Bay, The Mirage and MGM Grand fit into this category. The Excalibur increased to a $35 daily resort rate along with the Luxor while Circus Circus increased to $30.

Tourists to Las Vegas do not see the increase in fees as a customer-friendly option. With free parking also eliminated, tourists are starting to stay elsewhere or seek other options for travel to avoid the ever-growing fees.
