Michigan‘s newest casino; The Firekeepers Casino, located near Battle Creek;opened it’s doors to the public the morning of August 5th after a three day practice run.

It is located alongside I94 highway in Emmett Township, which is in Calhoun County.It is approximately 60 miles from Grand Rapids.

Firekeepers, which took 15 months to build, stands on 78 acres.It has a 107,000 square-foot game floor with more than 2600 slot machines, over 75 table games, a 120 seat poker room, and a bingo hall.It also includes five restaurants and a 2,080 vehicle attached parking garage.

The casino is owned by the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi Indians.This marks Michigan’s 19th tribal casino.Three commercial casinos, non-tribal, operate in Detroit.
