Some nine months after agreeing an intellectual property rights deal with A+E Networks and Swedish online casino games developer, NetEnt AB, has announced the launch of a video slot branded around the broadcaster’s popular Vikings television drama series.
Title features ‘immersive footage’:
The Stockholm-based innovator used an official Thursday press release to declare that its new Vikings-branded video slot is a five-reel and three-row title that features ‘immersive footage and imagery inspired by the historical drama’ alongside appearances from the series’ main protagonists, Ragnar Lothbrok and Lagertha.
Special features a-plenty:
NetEnt explained that its latest innovation is a 243-ways-to-win advance that comes complete with the unique Raid Spins symbol as well as the Hotspot and Shield Wall special features. As if this wasn’t enough, the firm detailed that Vikings also offers the Raid Spins mode, which expands the game into a seven-reel and five-row title offering some 78,125 betways.
Enjoy the ‘Dark Ages’:
Bryan Upton, Game Products Director for NetEnt, stated that his firm’s new Vikings-branded video slot is sure to be a hit with players because it allows aficionados to ‘take out their sun compasses’ and join Norse warriors from the ‘Dark Ages’ in order to ‘battle for their plunder.’
Upton’s statement read…
“With its epic storytelling and loyal global fanbase, Vikings is an iconic franchise. It is a perfect brand for us to partner with and to bring to life for slot players. Since first announcing the partnership at ICE in February, the anticipation and excitement has been building all year. At NetEnt AB, we are huge fans of Vikings too and are delighted with the product we’ve created.”
Sixth series on its way:
NetEnt has offices across Sweden as well as in the United States, Malta, Gibraltar and Poland while A+E Networks recently proclaimed that Vikings, which first premiered in March of 2013, had been renewed for a 20-episode sixth season.
