Depending upon where you are located when you go to WSOP.com you will have access to a particular download poker client for real money online play. If you are in New Jersey you should see a red tab on the right near the top that that will help you download the poker client for New Jersey denizens. The web site/portal itself is governed by the laws of Nevada, and Nevada players will use a different client to the one available to New Jersey players. WSOP.com is owned by Caesars Interactive Entertainment, Inc., a  Caesars company. The software in either case is an 888 product. Players in Delaware likely have access to another variant of 888 Poker as they are the technology partner of Scientific Games who received the online gambling concession for that state.

WSOP.com Website

The WSOP.com website offers players a lot of info and opportuntiy to stay on top of their games. The EVENTS tab lets you immediatley access World Series of Poker circuit info, past events going back to 2011, WSOP news, and the WSOP Academy. The PLAYERS tab contains several lists including a board showing all players that have at least cashed in a World Series of Poker or World Series of Poker Circuit Event, as well as circuit and even leaderboards. Players will find a Live WSOP blog, live updates, and chip counts in the LIVE UPDATES area and the opportunity to play real money download client and social/app games as well as several non-poker games under the PLAY GAMES tab. Playing at WSOP.com

The games are dealt using the MD5 random number generator (RNG) which has been proven to deliver 100% random results. The software downloads in less than 2 minutes on a 1 Mbps connection (we test all games to the lowest denominator possible). Registration is required to begin. If you are not in Nevada, nor have downloaded the New Jersey client a screen will appear advising that your location can not be confirmed. We tested from outside of the regulated jurisdictions so were then offered “Play Money” games. Rather than review that experience we will just mention that the basic matrix of choices appeared the same with perhaps more filters for real money online players.

Most of the action is in Hold’em games offering NLHE and Pot Limit. The Fixed Limit games were coming only from three “locations”. The tables are named after Nevada towns. Players will also find Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo, Stud and Stud Hi/Lo along with a great many Sit & Go and Tournaments. The interface when choosing a game is a bit cluttered and not completely intuitive (at least to this reviewer) but once you find your favorite games and configurations it’s not overly ‘clunky’. The tables were red here and it seems to be a slightly modified 888 user interface. Players may choose avatars, there is chat functionality with the option to squelch or show Dealer, Player, and Observer messages, and table statistics (for yourself). The software and thus games move swiftly without lag or fall-out. Players can sit in on as many games as they can manage.
