Four casinos are waiting to learn if they have earned formal licensure in the state of New York and these entities are going to have to wait just a bit longer. The New York Gaming Commission will be making the decision but not when they meet this Monday. Reportedly, the agenda does not have a vote on the casino licenses included on the schedule.
The Commissions does intend to address the issue of casino licenses before the year ends. By the end of 2015, it will have been a complete year since the state casino location board decided to endorse the gambling facilities.
The licenses cannot be awarded by the Commission until a background check into the casino owners has been completed as well as draft regulations and a review of the project details. The planned locations for the four casinos include the Southern Tier, Finger Lakes, Catskills and Schenectady.
