Expected to host festivities on the February 17, visitors who anticipated a grand opening of all facilities at Okada Manila this week, will have to wait just a little bit longer as the festivities have now been delayed. A press release was sent out on Friday which detailed the grand opening will now take place late next month.

On December 21st, a partial soft opening took place at the venue which the promoter called a preview period. By the 30th of the month, the property had officially launched casino operations. In the Friday press release, Okada Manila revealed that since the time of the soft opening, the construction focus has been on the VIP casino floors as well as the restaurants on-site. Preparations have been made for other facilities of the property to be ready for the grand opening.

Due to construction, the property announced they had reached a stage where they are targeting to hold the grand opening off until the end of March. The property of the resort is quite large with the first phase of the $2.4 billion project covering just over 54 acres of land under development. The gaming space can hold as many as 3,000 electronic gaming machines and 500 gaming tables, with a two wing hotel set to open with almost 1,000 guest rooms available.

Although not fully operational, the phased opening dates are seen as a way for the project to meet technical deadlines.
