Eastern European casino operator Olympic Entertainment Group has announced plans that will see its recently-acquires SIA Garkalns business merge with its Olympic Casino Latvia SIA subsidiary by the end of the year.
Tallinn-based Olympic Entertainment Group purchased SIA Garkalns in the autumn for an undisclosed amount and subsequently took control of its estate of 20 Estonian slot parlors including the ten it ran in the Baltic States’ largest city, Riga.
Olympic Entertainment Group operates 124 casinos and 35 sportsbetting shops spread across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Belarus, Italy and Malta and stated that the aim of the merger was “the adjustment of the group’s structure”.
“The merger of the subsidiaries has no direct influence on the economic activities of Olympic Entertainment Group,” read a statement from the Estonian firm. “The members of the management and supervisory boards of Olympic Entertainment Group have no personal interests in the transaction.”
