The famous sports technology company, SportsCastr Inc., owned by PANDA Interactive, filed separate complaints against Sportradar Group AG and Genius Sports Limited. The complaints were filed because of infringing on the company’s foundational interactive streaming technology patents.
Two complaints:
SportsCastr is one of the leading companies in the industry. Its offering includes the impressive proprietary cloud-based software that allows all of its partners, media, sportsbooks, and leagues, to incorporate the interactive viewing experience in their offering. Thanks to this, customers are able to track the odds in real-time and place their bets while watching the game.
The companies that SportsCastr filed complaints against are also very famous in the sports betting and interactive video industries for the technological infrastructure that they are offering to its customers.
The complaints were filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The complaint against Genius Sports is under the number 2-23-cv-00471 and the case number 2-23-cv-00472 is the one against Sportradar.
Donald Schupak, the Chairman of PANDA Interactive, said: “We have made substantial investments in the development of our technology and cannot tolerate having our patented technology used unfairly by others and against us. No one wants to see their own arsenal used against them in battle,” according to a press release.
