A little over six weeks after opening and the Paradise City Incheon integrated casino resort in South Korea has already managed to snag its first major land-based poker tournament series after announcing that the Asian Poker Tour (APT) will be visiting from August 12 to 20 to hold its APT Korea 2017 extravaganza.
Opened on April 20 by Seoul-listed Paradise Company Limited in partnership with Japanese pachinko operator Sega Sammy Holdings Incorporated, the $1.7 billion Paradise City Incheon features a hotel, convention and retail facilities, an art gallery and a spa while its casino offers a selection of some 350 slots alongside 160 live gaming tables.
“I am pleased to have the APT Korea 2017 held at Paradise City Incheon,” read a statement from Dom Choi, Poker Director for Paradise City Incheon. “Players will be wowed by Paradise City Incheon’s ambiance and with the APT’s expertise in organizing fun and competitive poker tournaments at a great value.”
Choi revealed that the nine-day APT Korea 2017 tournament series will feature a $983 buy-in poker main event alongside head-hunter, charity, monster stack, no-limit hold‘em, pot-limit Omaha, deep-stack turbo, high-roller, super deep-stack and pot-limit Omaha high-roller side events.
Paradise Company Limited, which is the largest gambling operator in South Korea with additional foreigner-only venues in the cities of Busan, Seogwipo-Si, Jeju and Seoul, declared that its Paradise City Incheon venue is located on Yongjong Island near the city of Incheon and is only a five-minute train journey from Incheon International Airport.
“Paradise City Incheon is an excellent destination for players travelling from Asia and abroad due to its proximity to Incheon International Airport,” read the statement from Choi. “Come see me for restaurant and entertainment recommendations. I am confident our players will have an awesome time during the APT Korea and create moments that will last a lifetime.”
