R. Franco Digital, the interactive division of the Malta-based R. Franco Group, has reached an agreement with local operator Corredor Empresarial S.A to provide its latest-generation IRIS omni-channel platform, along with its extensive catalog of online games and sports betting services, to the Bogotá-headquartered operator.

With more than 75,000 terminals and 25,000 retail points of sale throughout the country, Corredor Empresarial S.A. controls the largest commercial network of games of chance and luck in Colombia. The company’s varied portfolio of products and services make it the jurisdiction’s leading operator. Along with amusement devices and astrology-based lotteries, in 2014 the company was awarded a five-year exclusive pari-mutuel sports betting license. Additionally, last year, the Colombian operator, which was founded in 2008, also inked a virtual sports deal with mobile and server-based gaming innovator, Inspired Gaming Group.

In September 2016, Colombia formally approved online gambling legislation enabling operators to apply for concessions there via a formal application process. The regulation of online gaming there has attracted various international stakeholders to the market. Over the next five years, the market is estimated to be valued at €600million, according to the news release.

The agreement between R. Franco Group’s interactive division, R. Franco Digital, and Corredor Empresarial S.A. will place the multi-national gaming supplier in a prime position to grow the market over the coming years.

R Franco Group’s head of digital, Alejandro Casanova, said the deal with Corredor Empresarial “underlines R. Franco Digital’s position as a reference point in the provision of technology, content and operational solutions for operators, and our ability to offer a comprehensive and perfectly adapted solution to the specific needs of each client.” Casanova added that the partnership gives the Franco Group great pride and further demonstrates the “quality of the products and services offered by our company.” He added that the strategy of the company’s digital division “is to partner with top tier allies who have the potential to become leading operators in every national market.”

Also commenting on the partnership, General Manager at Corredor Empresarial S.A, Diana Margarita Otálora Taylor, said, said R Franco would help her company “consolidate our position within the market, retain satisfied users and generate a stronger contribution to Colombia as a whole.”
