Swedish online casino games developer Play‘n Go is celebrating after its very own Deion Williams won the Data Protection Officer of the Year trophy at last week’s Gambling Compliance Global Regulatory Awards 2018.
Vaxjo-based Play‘n Go holds certifications from regulators in Spain, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Colombia, Alderney, Italy, Belgium, Malta, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Romania, Lithuania and Latvia and stated that it is actively seeking to secure comparable approvals in other jurisdictions.
Play‘n Go declared that Williams works as its Information, Security and Technical Compliance Officer and has shown ‘particular commitment’ to the implementation of data protection procedures for any new market it enters.
“For myself and the rest of the team to be recognized for our hard work is a fantastic feeling, especially at such a prestigious ceremony,” read a Monday statement from Williams.
Held at the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane on April 18, the Gambling Compliance Global Regulatory Awards 2018 moreover awarded Anna Niewiadomska from Maltese firm Kindred Group with the Data Protection Officer of the Year gong after its judges were unable to separate the pair’s compliance achievements.
Johan Tornqvist, Chief Executive Officer for Play‘n Go, proclaimed that he was ‘thrilled’ Williams had been awarded with the Data Protection Officer of the Year prize before moreover offering ‘huge congratulations’ to his firm’s entire compliance team ‘for all the hard work they continue to put in for us’.
“Since joining the company last year, [Williams has] played an instrumental role in the implementation of regulatory measures to help the company grow in new and existing regulated markets,” read a statement from Tornqvist.
